Hanging heliconia (also known as "balizi" in the West Indies) takes on a sharp, modern form in the Balizie blackened metal sculpture by the award-winning French design duo dach&zephir. Using the cultural history of Guadeloupe as a raw material for his design, the sculpture is an abstract interpretation of the Caribbean plant traditionally used in bouquets. "Offering a bouquet with this flower is a way of showing attention and loyalty," Zephir explains.
