Stephane Fontaine's "Manti" uses converging geometric forms to create a bold and dynamic image. "Inspiration came while looking at a bowl of rice. I liked how the elliptical shapes stuck to each other," explains the artist. Applying thick, off-white paint with a large trowel, the artist creates texture and harsh edges against the sequoia red background.
